And three cheers for Catherine Clifford - owner of the Lansdowne Hotel - whose recent Ladies Clothes Swap raised a fantastic £940 for The Matthew 25 Mission!
On 31st May I gratefully received the cheque from Catherine, on the steps of the Hotel. Also on display in the photo is the 'Eastbourne Community Award' in the 'Good Neighbour' category. This was awarded to Catherine a few days ago, particularly in recognition of the practical help and support she has given to the homeless. But she was keen to share the award with me in the picture because of the help the Mission had also given to the homeless man she assisted, and also offers daily to Eastbourne's vulnerable and needy people.
The Mission is so grateful to Catherine for the tremendous support she continues to give to Matthew 25. She has just made Matthew 25 Mission Lansdowne Hotel's 'Charity of the Year' for the second year in succession.
