Eastbourne positive giving campaign – website and newsletter article

Homelessness and rough sleeper charities in Eastbourne are working together to raise awareness of the best ways to help those in need.

The message is clear: giving money to people on the street can do more harm than good. It might feel like the kindest thing to do at the time, but in many cases, it actually keeps people on the street.

To really make a positive difference, please consider donating to a local homelessness charity. This way you can be confident that anything you give will be used to improve the lives and opportunities of people experiencing homelessness.

By directing donations to registered local charities, you can ensure your generosity funds long-term solutions. This includes everything from food, clothes, hygiene essentials, to safe accommodation and support to rediscover skills and overcome barriers to achieve a more stable lifestyle.

To find out more and donate today, visit the link in the comments. lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/giving

Donations can also be made via the Fresh Start ‘tap board’, located outside The Clock House restaurant on Cornfield Road, Eastbourne.

Anyone with concerns about rough sleepers they believe are unknown to the council, these can be flagged through Streetlink at www.streetlink.org.uk
